Is a Christian able to legitimately and biblically explore the world of the paranormal, or is it completely forbidden, being dangerous even to think about it? No. The Bible is packed with paranormal instances, and as such a Christian should be able to explore the paranormal. There are however, biblical guildelines given for our own safety, which we do well not to ignore.
Our articles aim to help the Christian think properly about the paranormal, using Scripture and Reason. We also explore how the Christian tradition has understood the paranormal realm, and how cases have been dealt with appropriately, both positive and negative.
If you think there’s something in your own home that is causing you to be fearful; something which you think you’ve captured on your phone’s camera that makes you wonder if there are spirit presences; or even if it’s something simple like whether the Bible really does have something intelligent to say on the subject of ghosts, demons, angels and so on, we aim to help you think biblically through these issues so that you no longer have anything to fear – even if there may well be something present which may possibly not be a positive influence.
St Paul says we are not given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We are told to test the spirits as not every one comes from God [meaning some do!] (1 John 4:1), and to test the fruits of the Spirit (Matthew 7:16) to see if it is positive (and if so, it’s from God – if not, then be wary!).
