Do the dead sleep? Some use the biblical metaphor of sleep to argue for an inactive intermediate state of the dead. Using Scripture, our own experience and science, we show how the metaphor of sleep perfectly pictures a conscious experience of the physically dead, one imperceptible to the physically alive.
